Suns of Liberty

The Suns of Liberty make up a charitable organization dedicated to making Bryn Athyn College and the world a sunnier place.  While some clubs work on large-scale projects, we focus on smaller tasks that are often forgotten.  For example trimming the potted plants outside of Pendleton Hall, or sweeping the Commons.

If you would like to become a Sun of Liberty simply contact Kendra Knight to discover ways you can help the college.

Eden King talks about Ireland!

December 4th, 2006
12:30 - 1:15
Dean Henderson's office

Eden King talked about her independent study focusing on Celtic Ireland and her recent adventures there (yes, she not only travelled over the pond but went back in time). She held her audience of friends and professors captive as she told of brightly painted houses, murder holes, and a wet camera.

Eden shared fascinating information about how the religion of Ireland evolved from paganism to Christianity--it didn't change overnight. Some connections she had made before her trip, for example that celtic knots were used by pagans and Christians as symbolic artwork, and some connections Eden discovered once she was in Ireland. For example the plethora of sheep and deer around during her trip reminded Eden of the many sheep and deer in pagan myths.

Thank you for showing us your beautiful pictures and sharing your experiences with us Eden!
